The colour is dark ruby red, intense and elegant on the nose with hints of ripe cherry and black raspberry. Light hints of spices from the long ageing in oak barrels. Full bodied in the mouth and a long finish with a well balanced acidity, soft tannins and a perception of fleshy fruits.
65% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara, 5% Negrara
The grapes were harvested during the middle of October from selected vineyards in the historical area around the ancient village of Negrar di Valpolicella. Vintage conditions were excellent with a warm, dry, slight windy harvest resulting in very healthy, concentrated fruit.
This is a presitgious wine which is delicious with roasted meats and mature cheeses.
