Revealing a beautiful bright ruby color, the 2011 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir exudes aromas of shiitake mushroom and plum. The aromas also shine through on the palate along with subtle spiciness and roasted hazelnut. The wine is velvety and soft with a plush mouthfeel of perfectly balanced structure and acidity.
Crafted using traditional Burgundian techniques, including fermentation in small tanks, hand punch downs and aging in 60-gallon French oak barrels, this Pinot Noir is an elegant example of the varietal. The wine was aged in 100% French oak for 9 months.
