Finca El Origen Phi 750ML 2009
Sku: 51737

Rating
Wine Advocate 91 points (Apr 2014)
The 2009 Phi Single Vineyard is a blend of 79% Malbec, 11% Cabernet Franc, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot aged for one year in new French oak barrels an d is a showy wine, exuberant, aromatic, with plenty of ripe red fruit (raspberries, wild strawberries and cranberries) and flowery notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with plenty of sweet, fine tannins, persistent flavors and good length, with some spices in the aftertaste. This is a great blend from Uco. Drink 2015-2019.
 Wine Spectator 89 points (Jun 15 2013)
This rich red offers a polished blend of macerated black cherry, roasted plum, spice and toasted oak notes on a full-bodied frame. Chewy tannins mark the finish. Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now. 150 cases imported.-NW
 Vinous 89 points (Mar 2014)
(15.4% alcohol; a blend of 79% malbec, 11% cabernet franc, 7% cabernet sauvignon and 3% petit verdot): Saturated medium ruby. Sexy, chocolatey new French oak currently overshadows aromas of crushed cassis and violet. Dense, sweet and highly concentrated, with a chewy, three-dimensional texture to the cassis and bitter chocolate flavors. Tough, somewhat gritty tannins give this icon wine a rather brutal finish.
