Tasting notes

Deep, almost opaque violet-purple colour, with a bright garnet rim that clings to the glass. Intense and complex aromas of mulberry and other black fruits, with a sweet depth of cocoa and chocolate from the wood and some herbal, minty notes as well as violet, foral aromas. Well balanced in the mouth with lots of fruit, soft tannins and a long, persistent fnish.

Wine Advocate 91 points (Jun 2010) The 2007 Coleccion Vivanco Graciano offers up aromas of damp earth, mineral, Asian spices, and confiture of black cherry. Racy on the palate with lively acidity, it has excellent balance with plenty of spicy black fruit leading to a lengthy finish. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it from 2012 to 2022.

Food pairing

Best served just below room temperature as an excellent match for venison and red meats, meat dishes with strong sauces and foie with rich blackberry conft sauce.
